AFILIATIONS AND PARTNERSHIPS

RWEA

RWEA is the main organization in Romania that supports and promotes renewable energy, especially wind energy, aiming to achieve the transition towards a low-carbon future and sustainable development of the economy.

RWEA members include successful companies from Romania and abroad across the entire electricity production chain, bringing together owners and operators of wind farms, turbine and equipment manufacturers, developers, consulting firms, or law firms.

RPIA

The Romanian Photovoltaic Industry Association - RPIA was established in March 2012 with the aim of representing the interests of this rapidly growing industry in Romania, to raise awareness and create an appropriate development and networking environment for potential investors.

In less than three years, the association has brought together under its umbrella significant companies active in the Romanian PV market.

PATRES

PATRES began its activity in 2014. The members of the organization are energy producers from the entire spectrum of renewables - solar, wind, hydro, and biomass.

Through its activities and initiatives, PATRES will defend, promote, and support the rights of its members. PATRES aims to be the "voice" of renewable energy producers and a dialogue partner for authorities.

Universitatea din Petrosani

With a strong academic tradition and with the prestige it enjoys both nationally and internationally, the University of Petrosani today provides the necessary conditions for its students to acquire high qualifications in many diverse fields, offering education in all forms.

Professional training of specialists is conducted within three faculties: the Faculty of Mining, the Faculty of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, and the Faculty of Sciences.

BZEE

BZEE develops certified industry-relevant training courses with a high level of practical content for the wind energy sector. An advisory board made up of industry players determines the contents and high quality standards of the courses. The corresponding BZEE certificates, which are seen as an important sign of quality in the sector, ensure training complies with these high standards.
All BZEE training providers are certified and meet the strict BZEE training provider criteria. Specially designed training courses for instructors ensure that BZEE quality standards are maintained worldwide. Additionally, training providers are audited on a regular basis to ensure they always comply with BZEE standards.

GWO

The Global Wind Organisation (GWO) is a non-profit body founded by wind turbine manufacturers and owners.

The organization aims to achieve an injury-free work environment in the wind turbine industry through the deployment of common international standards for safety training and emergency procedures1.

The organization was founded by companies such as Vestas, Siemens, Ørsted, Vattenfall, GE, and Enercon.

Monsson

Monsson is active in large scale renewable energy power plant facilities as well as hybrid energy solutions, wind, solar PV and energy storage. Founded in 1997, this highly experienced Romanian Group covers the full spectrum of renewables (development, construction, operation, maintenance, service and electricity trading) and is a major renewable developer country wide.
Focused on renewable energy since 2004, it has become a major player with more than 7 GW of projects in pipeline. Among their success stories, they already built more than 1.1 GW, including the largest wind plant in Europe.
The Group developed and sold at RTB stage more than 2.8 GW wind and 2.1 GW solar power generation projects. It currently owns 78 MW of operating wind and solar capacities. The Group has currently over 2GW of renewable pipeline under development, still available.
Monsson has created its own software to integrate the energy storage in hybrid renewable energy projects, in the virtual power plants, to monitor and control the plant according with the electricity off-taker requests in interaction with the national grid requirements.

POLITEHNICA București

POLITEHNICA University of Bucharest is the oldest and most prestigious engineering school in Romania. Its traditions are linked to the establishment, in 1818, by Gheorghe Lazăr, of the first higher technical school with instruction in Romanian, at the Saint Sava Monastery in Bucharest. In 1832, it was reorganized into the College of Saint Sava.

On August 3, 1948, the Polytechnic Institute of Bucharest was founded, initially comprising 4 faculties, with most of the current faculties appearing since 1950. Based on the resolution of the Senate in November 1992, the Polytechnic Institute of Bucharest became the POLITEHNICA University of Bucharest.

OMV Petrom

OMV Petrom is the largest integrated energy producer in Southeast Europe, with an annual oil and gas production at group level of approximately 41 million bep in 2023. The Group has a refining capacity of 4.5 million tonnes annually and operates an 860 MW high-efficiency natural gas power plant. On the retail petroleum products distribution market, the Group is present in Romania and neighboring countries through approximately 780 gas stations, under two brands – OMV and Petrom.
OMV Petrom is a company in which, at the end of 2023, Romanian shareholders hold over 43% of the shares (of which the Romanian state, through the Ministry of Energy, holds 20.7%, and 22.5% are owned by pension funds in Romania, plus almost 500,000 individual investors and other Romanian entities). OMV Aktiengesellschaft, one of Austria's largest listed industrial companies, holds 51.2% of OMV Petrom shares, and the remaining 5.6% are held by other foreign investors. Of OMV Petrom's total shares, 28.1% are freely traded on the Bucharest Stock Exchange. OMV Petrom is one of the largest contributors to the state budget, with about EUR 42 billion in taxes, taxes and dividends paid between 2005 and 2023. During the same period, the company invested approximately 18 billion euros.
Since 2007, OMV Petrom has integrated the principles of corporate responsibility into its business strategy. Between 2007 and 2023, the company allocated about EUR 160 million for the development of communities in Romania, focusing on environmental protection, education, health and local development. On July 29, 2020, OMV Petrom announced its support for the recommendations issued by the Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD), the Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures on Climate-related Risks and Opportunities. OMV Petrom reports annually on the progress made in implementing these recommendations.
